The Ford Edge is a five seater crossover SUV that made its debut in 2007. In fact, we currently have a 2007 Edge and while its still going strong, we're in the market for a replacement vehicle. After eight years, we still love the vehicle and so test driving a 2015 model last week from Oak-Land Ford Lincoln on Trafalgar Road in Oakville was perfect timing.
Here's what I love about Ford Edge vehicles:
Am happy to report that all of those positive attributes still exist in the 2015 model and in fact, I noticed a few improvements too.
I also love that this car can grow with my family. When we bought the 2007 Edge, we didn't have kids yet. My son arrived in 2009 and so our Edge enjoyed its first car seat installation. As new parents, we brought pretty much everything but the kitchen sink when we travelled to the cottage with our new little one in tow. That truck accomodated an exersaucer, a pack n play, three suitcases, coolers packed with food, bags packed with diapers and wipes, blankets, toys, a white noise machine and a stroller!
When my daughter joined the family, we discovered that two car seats fit in the back of the Edge with no issues, still leaving adequate room between the seats (I may or may not have spent some car rides to the cottage wedged into the middle seat in the back with my seatbelt fastened…you do what you gotta do!)
And now that we're almost out of the car seat stage, its the truck space that still allows us to travel as a family of four with lots of room for everyone's stuff and is now known to carry a hockey bag, soccer balls, momstown signs and event gear and so much more. Even among all this family functionality, the adults in the family still get to feel like we're driving a nice car!
A thank you to the Oak-land Ford Lincoln team for setting me up for the test drive. Their customer service is top notch (you get a call from the service centre after you bring your car in to make sure you were satisfied with their work!) and I love that they are committed to giving back in the Oakville community.
