The countdown to 2015 is coming up fast! The list below has several options for Oakville families from New Year's Eve hikes, skating and fireworks to a dip in the lake on New Year’s day if you are feeling brave!
All activities are within a half drive from Oakville.
Create a special family tradition and visit Bronte Creek National park this New Years’ Eve. There will be outdoor skating (rentals available), Children's Farm and Play Barn, plenty of music, yummy treats and a bonfire. Meet a Park Ranger to go on a guided public Coyote Howl Hike to learn about the Eastern Coyote and a how to learn a proper Coyote howl too! To end the evening there will be an 8:30pm countdown at the rink for a fun and early welcome celebration to 2015! No dogs permitted on the guided hike.

RBG will be hosting family fun that includes a magical train Show! Experience the trail of festive lights and walk past the Candy Cane Garden and then warm up in the RBG Centre. Relax and take in the lovely choir, let the kids enjoy some craft making and story time too. Open 10:00am to 3:00pm New Year’s Eve.

Get into the festive spirit and visit Mississauga Celebration Square's New Year's Eve bash! There will be Countdown to 2015 at midnight with performances by electronic trio Keys N Krates! Also there will be a live DJ skate, sample gourmet fare from various food trucks, and then take in the final at midnight with out-of-this-world fireworks! Event runs from 8:00pm to midnight.

Come for a huge celebration in Downtown Brampton. There will be performances from Juno Award winning Arkells, The Beetroots and The OBGMs! Ready to ring in the New Year with a refreshing yet freezing dip in Lake Ontario? The 30th annual Courage Polar Bear Dip will be held again on the shores of Lake Ontario within Coronation Park. The day begins with registration at 12:30 p.m. This will be followed by live music, a costume contest at 1:15 p.m. and then finally the big dip commences at 2:00 p.m. A post-dip party takes place at Tin Cup Sports Grill, 1540 North Service Road West, Oakville. Net proceeds from the Courage Polar Bear Dip will be given to World Vision Canada.

From 11:00am to 4:00pm Lego mania is taking over the Tansley Woods Community Centre! There will be plenty of Lego themed activities.
