On a gorgeous, sunny Friday, momstown Oakville headed over to The Chartwell House Early Learning Centre located on Chartwell Road, just off of Cornwall Road (east of Trafalgar). We were invited to plant some strawberry plants and learn more about the Centre and their eco-friendly and enriched environment. The Chartwell House prides itself on using environmentally friendly cleaning products and on not serving processed foods. They serve all homemade natural meals that are prepared on site. Their chef makes her own tomatoe sauces, banana-avocado breads, chicken breast fingers, muffins etc. If its on their menu, it was homemade!

The centre has so much green space and children from the centre regularly get a chance to work on gardening or outdoor projects. The large green space in the back of the centre is very shady thanks to some beautiful old trees making it perfect for outdoor play.

Also, in addition to their standard curriculum, The Chartwell House also offers enriched programming such as regular yoga, live animals, DASH Sports, dance and a chance for the children to participate in an edible garden where they learn where food comes from and what makes plants grow.
The Chartwell House offers toddler (starting from 15 months), preschool and kindergarten programs and can accomodate full time and part time spots. It was great to hear how flexible they can be with part time care – a great child care partner for work at home parents whose needs may vary.
For more information, please contact The Chartwell House to arrange a tour and meet with the Director.
