Recently I was lucky enough to travel to Nassau, Bahamas with my husband for a four night, kid free vacation at the Riu Palace Paradise Island Hotel. This was our first time travelling to the Bahamas. We picked the Riu Palace Paradise Island Hotel for a few reasons – we've had several friends that had already stayed there, the price was right, it was located next to the Atlantis Hotel which we wanted to check out. Bahamas is a short 2.5-3 hour flight which is also ideal as we didn't want to spend a lot of our vacation time travelling – kid free vacations are pretty rare!
The Riu Palace Paradise Island Hotel is all inclusive – there was a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet running every day in addition to four a la carte restaurants that you can make reservations for (there are two seatings, 6:30 PM and 9:00PM). There was a lobby bar, the calypso lounge, a swim up pool bar and free alcohol in your room (liquor dispenser and a stocked bar fridge)
Here's our take on the good and the bad along with some helpful tips we wanted to share.
GOOD TO KNOW
Overall, we were happy with our stay at the Riu Palace Paradise Island hotel in the Bahamas. For an all inclusive trip, the price is very reasonable and I still feel like it was a nice place to enjoy a getaway for a few days. Our expectations were met in terms of what we wanted to do (relax, rest and enjoy some sunshine) but there is room for improvement.
Any suggestions on where to travel to next?
